Lush
Lush is an atempt to explore the dynamics of plant perception and the preconceived framework of people’s need for plants. Through a system of interaction between mechanics and light, the artwork presents plants that are suspended and put under random and changing lighting situations. In this process, light is no longer simply a resource but a dynamic intervening force that impacts the plants’ strategies of growth and adaptation paterns.
The artwork focuses on how plants adjust to environmental uncertainties and also explores the complexity of plant perception. Through the dynamic interaction between mechanics, light, and plants, a constantly changing environment is created, demonstrating that life is not a static endpoint, but a flowing process. In this dynamic relationship, the plants’ survival strategies are not only influenced by the environment but also reflect how we can impact, manipulate, and even misread their perceptions and behaviors as we intervene in their existence.
