Under the Same Light
In this work, aquatic plants are raised to roughly the same height as the viewer’s line of sight, with light acting as the medium of interaction. As visitors approach, pause, or move around the work, the rhythm and color of the surrounding light shift accordingly, continuously reshaping the plants’ lighting conditions.
Here, looking becomes a form of intervention. The coming and going of people is translated into visible light, while the aquatic plants absorb and register these effects through their growth and changing condition. By placing lakeside human activity alongside the sensations of nonhuman life, the work creates a shared field in which the same light environment acts on both people and plants, producing a brief yet tangible moment of cohabitation.
